Sweet and Sour Chicken

The sweet and sour chicken is an excellent choice as a Christmas dish. An infusion of flavors and colors that make you feel at home. Get ready to enjoy with your loved ones this Christmas.
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken chopped, 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- ½ dl olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ l water
- some saffron
- ½ cup honey,
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 kg Fresh or dried figs by season
- ½ cup cream
- salt
Directions:
Heat the olive oil in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan. Add the chicken and brown on all sides.
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Add them to the pan and cook for a few minutes until softened. Add water, ginger, saffron and a pinch of salt.
Cover the pan and let simmer for 30 minutes. Incorporate honey and cinnamon, stir and continue cooking for 10 minutes with the pan covered.
Add the figs and cook with the pot uncovered for 20 minutes or until figs are tender but whole. At the last moment, add the cream and stir.
Arrange the chicken pieces along with the figs in a dish, cover with sauce and serve immediately.
Personal Suggestion: Serve with rice and mashed potatoes. If you want more flavor you can also add pineapple chunks.
