While shrimp may be small, they are tremendous in their appeal as these deliciously clean and crisp tasting. They can be served hot or cold and are the most popular seafood in the United States, next to canned tuna. Fortunately, we able to enjoy fresh and frozen shrimp throughout the year. A wonderfully nutritious alternative to meat proteins, shrimp is low in calories and saturated fat.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 pound small shrimps, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 dash ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions:
Place butter in custard cup. Add garlic powder, parsley flakes,pepper and paprika. Microwave on high about one minute, or until melted.
Spread shrimps in a round glass baking dish. Pour butter mixture evenly over shrimp. Cover with plastic wrap, making a one slit in plastic to vent.
Microwave on high six minutes, stirring every two minutes, until shrimp are just pink and opaque. Let stand, covered, one minute.
Sprinkle with lemon juice and garnish with fresh parsley sprigs. Serve immediately.
Personal suggestion: Serve with a green salad and baked potatoes.
