Hello Friends, this next recipe “Roast Lemon Chicken” is a delicious dish for a holiday dinner. Chicken meat, besides being an economic and versatile food, is within the products known as protein. Ingredients:
3 pound whole chicken
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp salt
2 whole lemons
Several sprigs of fresh thyme
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Wash the chicken thoroughly in cold water. Remove all the bits of loose fat and dry it well.
Make a mixture with the salt and freshly ground black pepper in a small bowl. Season the chicken inside and out.
Rinse the lemons, soften them by gently pressing them between the palms of your hands. Perforate them in at least 10 places with a trussing needle.
Put the lemons, the thyme and garlic in the chicken’s cavity.
Close up the opening by pinning it with the trussing needlem, run a string from one leg to the other, tying it at both knuckle ends; leave them in their natural position.
Put the chicken face down on a rack in a roasting pan.
Place it in the upper third of the preheated oven. After 20 minutes, turn the chicken so the breast faces up. Be careful not to break the skin.
Cook for another 20 minutes, then turn up the heat to 400 degrees F. and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Cut the string and remove the lemons, thyme and garlic from the chicken and serve immediately.
Personal Suggestion: This is a delicious chicken recipe, if you want add more flavor you can add some onions in the chicken’s cavity.
