Manhattan is a classic cocktail based whiskey is usually taken as an aperitif. This drink was first made known in New York in the early 1870s. In the 1930s and 1940s with the splendor of Hollywood cinema, the cocktail became a manly drink, famous cosmopolitan. Today is an international cocktail mainly consumed as an aperitif and is found in many bars.
Ingredients:
- 200 cc. Whisky
- 100 cc. sweet vermouth
- 1 dash of aromatic bitters
- 4 maraschino cherries
- 8 ice pieces
Directions:
Mix the whiskey, sweet vermouth portion, a dash of aromatic bitters.
Stir with crushed ice, strain into cocktail glass.
Serve with a cherry.
Personal Suggestion: You can use any kind of whiskey or some other bitter drink too rather than the narrow, such as Maraschino or Benedictine. You can also vary the proportion whiskey / vermouth to give the drink taste stronger or more aromatic.
