Title: Homemade Donuts
Cook Time: 1 hour
Level: Easy
Serving: 15

It is considered that the origin of the donut is a Christmas sweet Dutchman who they brought with them to New Amsterdam (future New York) in the sixteenth century. In the following centuries evolved into the varieties we know today.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 15 grams of fresh yeast
  • 40 grams of refined sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 30 grams unsalted butter
  • 175 ml. water
  • Oil for frying
  • Vanilla, pineapple, lemon
  • Sugar Glass

Directions:

Put the flour in a bowl-shaped volcano, then add yeast and sugar dissolved in water, add the remaining ingredients one by one, knead and let stand covered for 30 minutes.

Take back the dough and knead until smooth, form a thick cord and a regular court of 12 cm. An end, again let stand another 30 minutes until double the volume.

Saute in hot oil until golden brown, remove and decorate with different presentations.

Personal Suggestion: You can decorate them placing  over hot chocolate, coconut, caramel or any combination that you like.
