The next recipe is a delicious Corn sticks, they are a tasty and fun alternative to muffins or cornbread.The corn used to produce a variety of products, so is the third most widely grown food in the world. Beyond its uses, this food has great nutritional benefits. It is high in fiber and has high levels of vitamins B1 and A.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 c Cornmeal
- 1 1/2 ts Baking powder
- 3/4 ts Baking soda
- 1/2 ts Sugar
- 1/2 ts Salt
- 1 1/2 c Buttermilk
- 1 Egg, beaten
Directions:
Sift together cornmeal, baking powder, soda, sugar and salt; stir in buttermilk and egg, mixing well.
Heat well greased cast iron corn stick pans in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes or until very hot.
Spoon batter into pans, filling two thirds.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
Personal suggestion: These corn sticks are delicious, you can serve them for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee and some omelet eggs.
