Maple syrup is a sweet made from the sap of maple. Usually it is combined with pancakes or waffles, but can also be used as an ingredient in baked goods, for our recipe we will use to roast a delicious pork chops.

Ingredients:

  • 1.4 kg of lean pork chops
  • 175 ml pure maple syrup
  • 15 ml of hot sauce
  • 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 15 ml red wine vinegar
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1.25 ml dry mustard
  • Salt and pepper

Beans with Bacon and Maple Syrup - American Food

Your hole family will love this beans recipe, The white beans are small white oval. These beans have a mild flavor and chalky texture. The white beans are used mainly for making soups and stews.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g white beans
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 slices smoky bacon, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 200 g tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 bay leaf
  • 4 tbsp raw sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to season

Directions:

Soak beans overnight in a bowl covered with water.

Wash and drain. Place beans in a large pot, cover with fresh water, bring to the boil and cook for about 35 minutes or until tender. Set aside.

Heat oven to 160C. In a large, ovenproof cast-iron dish, heat oil and cook onion and bacon for five minutes.

Add tinned tomatoes, sugar, maple syrup and tomato sauce. Stir well.

Add the beans and bay leaf. season with salt and pepper.

Cover tightly with aluminium foil, place in oven and bake for 1/2 hour.

Remove foil and sprinkle over raw sugar.

Continue to bake, uncovered for 30 minutes more.

Personal Suggestion: This recipe beans are not just for a Sunday breakfast, they are delicious for lunch or dinner, too. Serve with white rice.
