Ingredients:
Brownies:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2cup ground walnuts
Cover:
1/3 cup Irish Cream liqueur
8 ounces white chocolate, chopped
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 F.
Grease a 9 x 13 inch, with butter. Set aside.
In a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate with butter over medium heat, moving constantly. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Beat sugar, vanilla extract, walnuts and salt into chocolate mixture, add the eggs, one at a time.
Continue whisking the mixture until it is smooth and shiny.
Add flour and beat just until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan and level top.
Bake for about 35 minutes. Cool completely in the pan.
Topping: Warm liqueur in a boil, remove from heat and whip in white chocolate until it is completely melted and mixture is smooth.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until mixture becomes thick enough to spread, you may stir occasionally.
Spread topping over brownies and refrigerate until cold. Place the brownies at room temperature 20 minutes before serving.
Personal Suggestion: This brownie recipe is luscious, The topping with Irish cream and white chocolate makes a perfect combination. If you don’t like white chocolate, you can replace them with 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate. Enjoy this great dessert in your St. Patrick`s Day celebration.
