Bread Puding – Puerto Rican Food

Hello Friends, this next recipe “Bread Puding” are a traditional dessert from Puerto Rico. The persons in that country serve this delicious dessert on Holidays seasons. Enjoy this Puerto Rican bread dessert with your family.



 

Ingredients:
1/2 pound of old bread, without crust.
4 cups warm milk
2/3 cup raisins
4 large eggs at room temperature
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup raisins
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 tsp salt

Directions:

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, mix together the sugar, raisings, cinnamon; nutmeg, vanilla and the salt. Set aside.

Cut the bread into small pieces, add 4 cups of milk and mix until the bread soaks up the milk.

Beat 4 eggs, add gradually to the mixture, whisking the eggs into the mixture, insert the melted butter and mix well.

Add the ingredients that you had previously mixed together in the bowl. Blend in thoroughly.

Pour all ingredients into a buttered baking dish.

Place the baking dish into a large amount larger dish. Next add enough water to the larger dish to fill it nearly three-quarters complete.

Bake approximately one hour to have the desired consistency. Add more water to the larger dish if it is necessary.

 

Personal Suggestion: Thi s is a very tasty bread dessert, you can serve it warm if you  want  a  warm dessert. I suggest refrigerate before serving. If you don’t like raisins, you can change them for chocolate chips or walnuts.
