Bread Ham – Venezuelan Food

Hello Friends, this next recipe “Bread Ham ” is a traditional accompaniment plate from Venezuela. In that country is very popular serve this bread in Christmas Dinner. Enjoy this delicious Venezuelan bread recipe with your family.

Ingredients:
Bread:
1 y 1/2 tbsp of yeast
2 tbp warm water
3 ½ sugar
½ tbsp additional sugar
½ cup of milk
3 y ¼ cup of all-purpose flour
3 tbs melted butter
1/4 tbsp salt
1 egg
Fill:
350 g sliced ham
1 / 4 cup raisins
16 olives
Directions:
In a small bowl put the yeast, insert the warm water, add the ½ tbsp of sugar and let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl put the milk and the yeast mixture. Put in 2 cups of flour and mix well with a spoon.
Knead the mixture until you feel it soft. Cover the dough with a dry kitchen cloth and let dough for 1 hour.
Alter 1 hour, you can add the melted butter, the rest of the sugar and the salt.
Insert the egg, knead well and slowly, add the remaining flour.
Bring the dough to a floured inn and continue kneading until smooth. Form a boll and let it rest cover again for another 30 minutes.
Alter that, put the dough again to the floured inn and extend with the help of a roller until a you have a thickness of about ½ cm. (The dough must be shaped rectangular).
Place the slices of ham on the dough, add raisins and olives. Fold the ends of the narrow side and bread rolls.
Prepare a baking dish with butter and carefully transferred the bread.
Preheat oven to 400 º F / 200 º C.
Bake the bread for 35 minutes or until it looks golden on the surface.
Personal Suggestion: This is an amazing ham bread, its perfect for a holiday season or an especial weekend breakfast. If you want you can add another ingredients to the filling or change the original recipe with cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms.
